Emergency First Aid for Baby and Child Training Courses:
Our Emergency First Aid for Baby and Child training is an onsite course designed for expectant parents, parents, family members and casual babysitters who care for babies and/or children under the age of 10. The 3-hour programme covers a range of first aid theory and practical skills related to the welfare of children and will enable delegates to react better in the case of an emergency. It is not however suitable for those caring for children in a professional capacity. For this we recommend our 2 day Paediatric First Aid course.
• Course introduction. • Emergency situations. • Unconsciousness (breathing/not breathing). • Child/baby CPR. • Sprains and strains. • Choking. • Severe allergic reactions. • Broken bones. • Asthma. • Fevers (and febrile seizures). • Head injuries. • Burns and scalds. • Bleeding (heavy and light).
What do I gain with this qualification?
This course is not accredited, but all of our training is designed to meet recommendations underlined by the HSE - and more importantly, provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to use what you have learned in a real emergency situation.
How is the course delivered?
Our instructor will travel to your location and hold the course at a premises of your choice. You must organise the training location - schools, community halls, leisure centres, are all ideal locations.
